EV Discussions & Q& A Panel
Electric Vehicles (EVs) are gaining increased public attention. But where are we at in Kingston and the region in support of EV adoption. Please join us at the Switch open meeting on April 3rd to participate in a panel discussion on this topic. Switch is please to have Paul MacLatchy, Environment Director at the City of Kingston and Spencer Bardell, Kingston Chapter lead for the Electric Vehicle Society join us to discuss progress on the adoption of EVs and the required infrastructure to make this transition possible. For current EV owners this will be a chance to share stories on lessons learned, while for those still considering this transition, it will be a great opportunity to understand the local infrastructure already in place, the plans for the future and where the automotive industry appears to be headed.
The year 2020 marks an important milestone in the history of the modern electric car. The Nissan LEAF has now been on the road for ten years, having first appeared on the market in 2010 as a 2011 model. Yes, it's true that the Tesla Roadster predates the LEAF, but its limited distribution keeps it out of most discussions of the format’s early years.
2020 also marks an important step in the acceptance of this mode of automotive propulsion, as the industry is (finally) multiplying electric models at high speed, while in the political realm, governments around the world are also pushing for more-electrified vehicle fleets. Full story link here.
