Where have we been and where are we going?
SWITCH is 20 years old in 2022! The organization has seen a lot of change over this time in its continuing goal to support the transition to more use of sustainable energy. To celebrate this achievement the board has procured funds from the City of Kingston Heritage Fund to support activities to collect and showcase our history and contributions over this period. As part of these activities, SWITCH would like to invite our members and the general public to a special Open Meeting Friday July 8th. As a kick-off to our INTERVIEW SERIES we will be hosting a panel of current and past SWITCH members to discuss their recollections about key moments during their time with SWITCH and where they see the industry and SWITCH going in the future. This interview session will be lead by the seasoned videographers that will be conducting further individual interviews over the summer of 2022. All these interviews will be compiled as part of a 20th Anniversary video series to be hosted by SWITCH.
Panel members will include:
- Kathryn Wood, President and CEO at Pivotal Momentum,
- Tom Carpenter, a lead at the Queen's Institute for Energy and Environmental Policy;
- Brad Leonard, former Board member and current co-owner of Friendly Fires and
- Harriet Waterman, former Industrial Technology Advisor for IRAP and long time SWITCH board member.
These titles do little justice to the important roles our panelists have played in SWITCH over the years!
Our interview hosts will be Jung-Ah Kim and Bojana Babić from the Department of Film and Media at Queen's University.
