Energy Literacy for Southeastern Ontario

SWITCH is a network of businesses, research and educational institutions, public sector participants, energy professionals, students and community volunteers dedicated to making Southeastern Ontario a leading centre in sustainable energy.

Headquartered in Kingston, Canada, SWITCH is approaching twenty years of increasing energy literacy rates to thousands of people across the Greater Kingston Region and Southeastern Ontario.

A great deal has changed since SWITCH was founded in 2002. Sustainable energy is now part of the energy mix across Ontario and more people than ever are aware of the importance of solar, wind, geothermal, bioenergy, and energy efficiency measures as we move toward a cleaner, more sustainable energy future. Although there is general awareness of the importance of alternative and sustainable energy, SWITCH continues to work to increase the technical understanding of different options, range of technologies, and costs associated with implementation, uptake, and lifespan maintenance in new energy technologies with applications in both urban and rural, remote communities.

SWITCH continues to provide support to the sustainable energy sector as well as educate people with energy literacy. More people than ever are becoming aware of the benefits of renewable energy and we will continue to ensure that these people are connected with accurate information and reputable businesses in the sector.

Once a month, we offer Open Meetings, free public workshops. First Fridays @ 8:00am.

If you're interested in a sustainable energy future, join SWITCH today!
